Navigation in Merlin is based on a four-part architecture, comprising:
The top menu
The side menu
The list screen
The browsing history
This article will help you master the Merlin software by introducing you to these four components.
The side menu
The side menu
To navigate Merlin, you can use the side menu on the left side of the screen. This menu consists of various sections (grouped into business sections and user sections). These are described in more detail in other articles in this help centre.
To close this menu, click on the Merlin logo.
Conversely, if you wish to open it, click on the ‘M’ logo.
The side menu consists of the following categories:
Business sections:
Contacts
Projects

The top menu
The top menu
The top menu of your Merlin software consists of a series of action buttons that vary depending on the section you are in.
For business sections
In general, when you are in a business section, you will first find an overview of the different sub-sections within that section.
⚠️ Not all sections necessarily have sub-sections. ⚠️
You will then find a series of action buttons. All of the action buttons are shown here. (Not all sections necessarily have all of the action buttons).
Navigating from left to right, you will find the following in the top menu:
The name of the section
An action button for a single action, or a menu containing several actions, depending on the section
A search button
A data import button
An export button (in csv format)
A custom view management button
A list screen column management button
A filter management button
The ‘Settings’ section is the only one that functions without a top menu.
For user sections
The only user section with a top menu is:
Communications
This section has the standard action buttons described above.
The list screen
The list screen
The list screen is the central part of the screen, which displays data relating to the section you are currently in.
The data is presented in a table whose columns are fully filterable and editable.
You can delete one or more lines from this table by ticking the small square to the left of the line. A bin icon will then appear in the top menu, allowing you to delete the selection.
There is a pagination bar at the bottom of the list screen, allowing you to navigate from page to page.
Browsing history
Browsing history
When you browse within your Merlin software and open several pages within a section, these remain in memory and the tabs for each open page remain accessible in the browsing history located at the top of your interface.
This allows you to easily navigate between the different pages you have recently opened within a section.
The following icon, located at the beginning of your browsing history, allows you to return to the section's home page.
You can also delete tabs from your browsing history by simply pressing the cross on the tab you no longer need.
⚠️ The browsing history is specific to each section. When you change sections, the browsing history for the previous section will remain stored and will reappear when you return to that section. ⚠️
