Import a quantity survey

Discover how to import a bill of quantities easily

Updated over 3 months ago

To import a bill of quantities, go to the ‘Projects’ section of your software.

Click on Projets

Then go to the project for which you wish to import the measurements in question.

Click on grid.ariaRowSelect

From there, click on the ‘Quotation’ section.

Click on Devis

Then go to the ‘Measurements’ section.

Click on Métrés

You will then see a button with three dots to the right of the section title. The ‘Import a bill of quantities’ feature is located there. You then have the option of choosing between three different import modes:

  • Hierarchical mode: automatically creates a hierarchy between items by following the import procedure.

  • Flat mode: imports the file line by line without creating a hierarchy between items.

  • Mode via line type and level: allows you to create a hierarchy between items by manually creating two organisational columns in the import file.

Click on 0.15.2…

All import modes automatically redirect you to the import start interface. This interface contains a series of preliminary remarks outlining best practices to follow to ensure optimal import of measurements. Once you have read these remarks, click on ‘Confirm’ at the bottom right of the interface.

Click on Confirmer

The following interface allows you to upload the file containing the measurements you wish to import.

⚠️ Only the Excel format (.xlsx) is compatible for importing. ⚠️

Click on Ajouter un fichier

Once you have selected your file for import, the software will ask you to select which sheet(s) you wish to import. You must also define the row number containing the various titles and the row number where the first data to be processed begins.

Click on Import métré…

The next step allows you to match the different titles in the imported file with the names used in the software. Names marked with an asterisk (*) must have a match in the imported file.

Click on Import métré…

When you import data by line type and level, two additional mandatory fields must be matched. These are the fields relating to the type and level, which you must manually create in the imported file.

Click on Niveau

You are also asked to define the type of separator used in the file you are importing. The separator concerns the ‘Reference’ column.

Click on Import métré…

The following interface will list all the errors that the software detected during the pre-import of the file. These errors must be corrected in order to complete the file import.

The correction takes the form of a list of possible values (defined in the application settings). One must be selected to correct the error.

Click on JO

When you correct an error, the software provides a shortcut that allows you to automatically correct similar errors in the same way.

Click on cm2

Once the errors have been cleaned up, the file is finally imported. You will then be taken to an interface summarising the import. The number of lines analysed may differ from the number of lines actually imported. Blank lines are removed directly by the software. Lines may also be ignored if the actual data in the file differs from the data format expected by the software.

All you have to do now is confirm to proceed to the final stage of importing the quantity survey.

Click on Confirmer

After confirmation, the software may ask you to complete a final validation step. Items highlighted in pale yellow are potentially problematic. You are free to adjust these items if necessary.

Click on Métrés - Validation nécessaire…

When you have completed the validation step, click on the action button consisting of three small dots at the top of the interface and finally click on ‘Validate last import’.

Click on Valider le dernier import
